Bags of fun

A couple of week’s ago we hosted a hen do for 17 lovely ladies celebrating Sarah’s last few weeks of freedom.

The afternoon commenced in the most appropriate of hen-do ways…with a glass of fizz for the girls and Sarah’s sister’s amazing cupcakes. Whilst the girls sipped and ate, Sam and I introduced ourselves and outlined the aims of the day.

When preparing for the hen do, we were asked if they could make something for Sarah to keep but also an item for each hen to take away themselves…

The first hour of the Crafternoon, all the girls sewed their names onto leaves which we then took away to make up into a cushion for Sarah to keep as a momento of the day…

The rest of the Crafternoon saw the girls making individual little bags…all with different patterns of fabrics, trims, ribbons and buttons. We made sure the fabric we offered was pretty but also fitting to the bride’s wedding colour scheme: navy and sage green.

We had a lovely afternoon chatting to the girls and helping them to choose fabric, assist them with the sewing machines, and showing them step by step stages of how to make up the bags. We were so impressed with their finished items.

We held the Hen Do Crafternoon in Dock Street Market which is such a lovely relaxed, yet vibrant venue. The staff were really helpful and teapot cocktails went down a treat!

Following the Crafternoon, not only have we had one of the ladies visit our online shop and buy some fabric (hopefully inspired by our Crafternoon!), we received some lovely feedback…here are just a few of the quotes:

“I thoroughly enjoyed the Crafternoon and think its a brilliant idea and very unique. Thank you!”

“It was fab, the materials were lovely and there seemed to be something to suit everyone which is pretty good going for such a big group! You were all very patient with us and I loved choosing all the fabric, edgings and buttons.”

“Emily and Sam were fantastic and provided lots of help and support! They explained exactly what needed to be done, and were so approachable when I had any questions. It was a really nice environment to learn new skills at a relaxed pace.”

Thank you ladies for such kind words, we are really pleased that you all had a great time, and enjoy the wedding.
