Cupido Ceramic Buttons

Emily and I love all things fabric, but we are also massive fans of British craft and especially love to celebrate items made in our home of Yorkshire.

So, we were very excited when Marije from Cupido Ceramics showed us some of her gorgeous handmade ceramic buttons. Marije is a fellow NET 315 enterprise (see previous blog posted 23rd August 2012) and we spent a somewhat blustery Saturday together selling our wares at the Artsmix craft fair in Leeds recently. Emily and I fell in love with her buttons and are very excited to announce that from today Love Me Sew are one of Cupido Ceramics stockists. The buttons make a wonderful addition to our range of fabrics and would perfectly compliment many of your beautiful creations.

The buttons come in a range of different shapes and colours including hearts, clovers and flowers. We sell them in sets of either four or six per pack, so they are perfect for both clothes and crafts alike. Each of the buttons are made from stoneware and are fired up to approximately 1230°c making them hard wearing and robust. The buttons are lovingly hand made by Marije, dried, then fired, glazed three times, then fired again. A process that takes approximately two weeks to complete, the results are definitely worth the wait!

Emily and I are keen to make links with local crafts people and fabric designers. We would love to stock locally designed or screen printed fabrics. If you are a budding local designer please get in touch at hello@lovemesew.co.uk
