NET 315 project

Earlier this year Emily and I were very excited to be accepted onto the NET 315 project with Leeds City College.  NET 315 provides college students and members of the community with support, information & guidance to assist them becoming self employed.  The network is made up of colleges and partners across the Yorkshire and Humber region.

NET 315 is supported financially by the EU from the European Regional Development Fund. The project provides support and mentoring to assist businesses in the all important early days.

Our mentor Gina Yates from Leeds City College has been a fantastic support and has really helped to guide us. We have received training and advice to give Love Me Sew the best start possible including finance courses, social media and time with experts to consider intellectual property rights. Not to mention all of Gina’s wonderful ideas that keep us inspired each time we meet.

Being on the project has also given us the opportunity to meet other creative businesses in a similar position to us which has been great to bounce ideas off and learn from everyone’s expertise and experience.

The project has included some test trading opportunities including this weekend in Leeds City Centre at the Artsmix market on Albion Place. Come along from 10am to see us and take a gander at our cute homemade crafts and wonderful fabric. The Artsmix market is a great shopping opportunity, especially for those organised amongst you to stash away some gifts for Christmas.
